13-Pin wiring socket
As a technician, a vital piece of equipment in the garage is a spare socket kit. All the accessories that you add to your car need to be powered by electricity for the car's lighting systems to function properly. Socket kits allow you to connect a trailer, caravan or cycle carrier to your vehicle, ensuring a safe and smooth towing experience.
A 13-pin socket provides additional functionalities over a 7-pin socket, including:
- Reversing lights: A 13-pin socket includes a dedicated pin for powering the reversing lights on the trailer.
- Battery charging: A 13-pin socket includes a dedicated pin for charging the battery on the trailer.
- Additional power: A 13-pin socket can provide more power to the trailer, which can be useful for operating larger appliances such as refrigerators.
Not all tow vehicles are equipped with a 13-pin socket, so a towbar adapter may be required to connect a 13-pin trailer plug to a vehicle with a 7-pin socket.
At ECS Electronics, we offer a range of socket kits to suit a variety of vehicles. Each of our socket kits has comprehensive fitting instructions so that you can get your customers on the road quickly and efficiently. Thanks to 30 years of continuous improvement, ECS Electronics can provide high-quality towing connections that are one of the best in the European market.
